Create an adult-size Barbie box perfect for selfies at your Barbie themed party

Get a big box

Start with a giant shipping box that's big enough for you to stand in.  We used a box from a sofa.  Ask around at furniture and appliance stores

Step 1:

Cover the back in blue

Use blue bulletin board paper to  make the inside of the back of the box blue. For our box, the back was a separate piece, like a lid.

Step 2:

Cover the inside in pink

We covered the inside of the box with the most amazing plastic-y material called "Better Than Paper".  It's durable and glossy and easy to work with.

Step 3:

Attach the back of the box

We attached the back to the box, using gummed paper tape for a strong and durable seal.  This stuff is the best ever for attaching cardboard pieces.

Step 4:

Cover the outside in pink

We covered the outside with more of this amazing pink material. It's tear-resistant and wraps edges without ripping.  So much better than paper!

Step 5:

Add the Mattel logo

We've got a printable version of the logo that you can download on our blog!  We printed it, cut into a circle, and stuck it in the corner of the box.

Step 6:

Add the Barbie sign

We added the iconic Barbie name across the bottom.  Cut this from vinyl or visit our blog for a free printable version.

Step 7:

Add Barbie's accessories

No Barbie box would be complete without some accessories!  We created easy printables (on the blog!) to cut out and attach to the box back.

Step 8:

Get in and take pictures

We couldn't resist dressing up as Doctor Barbie and Western Barbie and taking selfies in this fun photo booth.
