Faux Resin Pendants Made with Clear Nail Polish

Have you ever wanted to preserve a cherished photo in a pendant, but were hesitant to invest in the time and supplies needed to master resin crafting? What if I told you there was a super easy way to create faux resin with something you probably already have at home? Clear nail polish is the secret to creating faux resin on a budget.
Pick up some pendant blanks and print your favorite photos small enough to fit inside. (Tip: Printers vary, so test applying polish over a sample printout to be sure the colors don't run or change under moisture.)
Cut the photos small enough to fit in the bezel of your pendant.
Test to be sure the photos fill the bevel exactly, and trim if necessary.
Coat the inside of the bezel with clear nail polish...
... then add the photo and press into place, adhering it to the bezel.
Apply a sealer coat over the photo to further adhere it to the base of the bezel, to prevent it from floating up in the polish later. Allow to dry for a few minutes.
Prop the pendants on some scrap cardboard with the loops extending past the edge so that the bezel portion is lying completely flat and level.
Pour clear polish directly into each bezel, filling them completely. After the polish dries thoroughly, it will likely have shrunk, so you may need to repeat this step once or twice more, as needed, to result in full bezels.
Once the polish has thoroughly dried, you've got beautiful handmade pendants that look just like glass or resin, but at fraction of the cost and effort! This technique is so quick and easy that it makes a great project for kids to do for gift for Mother's Day or a special birthday.
