We're hooked on Mahjong, and love playing with our friends. It's always a fun time with good conversation, friendly competition, and of course, drinks!

I've already shared a ton of Mahjong party ideas with you to help you with decor, gameplay, and snacks.

And today I want to share with you a few signature Mahjong-themed cocktail recipes that fit in perfectly whether you're just having a few friends over or throwing an all-out Mahjong party,

Mahjong Cocktail Recipes

Here are three signature Mahjong drink recipes we developed specifically to suit the theme.

First up: a spicy-sweet concoction that's a nod to the dragon tiles. I call it "Dragon's Fire", and it'll definitely keep your guests on their toes!

"Dragon's Fire" Cocktail

A smoky-spicy cocktail that breathes just the right amount of fire.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz mezcal (for smoky depth)
  • 0.5 oz Ancho Reyes chile liqueur (spicy and sweet)
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz agave syrup
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • Tajín or chili salt rim
  • Garnish: charred lime wheel or red chili pepper

Instructions

  1. Rim a rocks glass with lime juice and Tajín.
  2. Shake remaining ingredients with ice until chilled.
  3. Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
  4. Garnish and serve with a warning.

Next is the "Joker Julep", my twist on the southern Mint Julep. It's Chica's favorite of the three, with the bold fruit flavors.

"Joker Julep" Cocktail

A cheeky, herbal twist on the Southern classic mint julep

Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 0.5 oz crème de cassis (blackcurrant liqueur for a joker’s wink of mischief)
  • 0.5 oz mint simple syrup (made by steeping fresh mint in simple syrup)
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Crushed ice
  • Garnish: mint bouquet and a blackberry or two

Instructions

  1. Lightly muddle a few mint leaves in a julep cup or highball glass.
  2. Add bourbon, crème de cassis, and mint syrup.
  3. Fill the glass with crushed ice and stir until frosty.
  4. Top with more crushed ice and garnish like it's a Vegas show.

Finally, the elegant and refreshing "Crak, Bam, Fizz", a bubbly and sweet drink that features Prosecco, one of my favorite party libations.

"Crak, Bam, Fizz" Cocktail

A Mahjong-inspired celebration in a glass — bubbly, fruity, and elegant.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz elderflower liqueur (like St-Germain)
  • 0.5 oz lemon juice
  • 0.5 oz lychee syrup (or substitute with pear syrup)
  • 3 oz chilled Prosecco
  • Garnish: lychee fruit or edible flower

Instructions

  1. Shake elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, and lychee syrup with ice.
  2. Strain into a champagne flute or coupe.
  3. Top with Prosecco for that signature fizz.
  4. Garnish and toast: "Crak, Bam, Cheers!"

You can make these drinks to order or batch them up and serve from a pitcher placed next to an ice bucket and glasses. (Just be sure to add the Prosecco at the last minute!)
