Pioneer Woman Floral Pattern Camera Bag

A couple of years ago, I picked up this brown, dated camera bag at a flea market because I really liked the shape. I thought that one day, I would be inspired to give it a new life.

To start that new life, I had to first get rid of that fake brown leather. The easiest way to do this and get a consistent, smooth finish was to use some Rust-Oleum spray paint in gloss white to base coat the whole thing.

I will admit that I did this base coat a few months before I ever decided how to decorate the bag. I was literally staring at this blank canvas on my craft room table for months until I came across some Pioneer Woman adhesive laminate and was inspired. I have always loved Ree Drummond's floral style and color choices, so this beautiful pattern was a natural fit for me. Adding the design to the camera bag was a super simple project. I just cut out the floral images and stuck them to the bag wherever I liked.

Sometimes my placement was strategic. The camera bag had a tear in the vinyl on the back side that I managed to completely cover up with one of the flowers. It's like the flaw was never even there!

Once I had everything in place, I decided to give the whole bag a coat of acrylic sealer just to make sure everything stayed stuck.

This old bag is now a cute and trendy new tote for my Instax camera. It also makes a really cute purse.
