Dessert Stands Made from Target Dollar Spot Items

Like a moth to the proverbial flame, I can't resist the lure of the Target Dollar Spot. There's something about this ever-changing collection of items I just have to have that gets me as soon as I walk in the door. This time, I spied some simple wooden trays and plant baskets that were gorgeous and inspiring. Into the cart they went!
I knew these baskets and trays would be perfect decor for an upcoming boho-themed bridal shower I'm hosting, but I wanted to add a little bit of color to them. I used watercolor paints to accent areas with just a hint of color. The watercolors gave a perfect light stain-like finish.
Then inspiration struck and I hot glued one of the trays to the bottom side of the basket, creating a whole new look.
This made the perfect elevated riser for my dessert table, allowing me to have varying heights.
My desserts were really light so these worked out great but since the "legs" are pretty delicate, I would not suggest putting anything heavy like drinks or a large cake on them.
