Unique way to share Thanksgiving wishes
A few years ago, I created a clothes pin wreath that visitors to my house could use to share their thankful thoughts. I still have the wreath and it is full of cherished sentiments. The key there, it that it was full! I wanted to continue the tradition of sharing thanks but needed a new way.
We were doing a collaboration with Uncommon Goods recently, and I was browsing their bridal shower gifts and personalized wedding gifts, and I happened to see their engravable “Wishing Wall”. I thought it was a great idea for a wedding or baby shower, but it inspired me to get one to use for Thanksgiving. I asked them to engrave “I am thankful for…” at the top and I placed it next to my front door.
It comes with a pad of brightly colored paper but I wanted to have fall-colored notes instead. So, I cut up some scrapbook paper and used our padding compound to create a custom notepad in the colors I liked.
From now until Thanksgiving, I will ask family and friends to write a message and add it to the Thanks Wall. On Thanksgiving Day, as we are recovering from a heavy meal, we will read the messages together. I can’t wait!
