Paint-dipped mini wooden bowls
I’ve been wanting to try the paint-dipped look on something for a while now, and found the perfect inspiration when I stumbled upon some mini wooden bowls / condiment cups. They are only 2.5″ across and so adorable! They will be super useful for pinch bowls or for serving condiments to dinner guests.
I decided to make the bowls for Jo as a gift, so I chose colors to match her kitchen. It’s yellow and black, so I picked out multi-surface paint in (clockwise from top) Black Tie, School Bus, Lemon Zest, Dolphin, and Cotton Ball.
Rather than actually dipping the bowls in the paint, I thought it would be more efficient (and far less messy) to just paint the color onto the bowls. I left about a quarter inch of exposed wood at the top, because I really liked the look.
Two coats of paint was enough to get nice coverage, and the paint had a satin finish so I didn’t need to seal the paint after it dried.
Jo was delighted with her surprise, and I had so much fun on this fast and easy project. Now I need to get more of these mini wooden bowls and make some for my own kitchen!
