Chair Makeover with a Llama Theme

On a recent thrift store shopping trip, Chica and I found the most charming, old arm chair for only $5. I loved the modern design of the chair's frame, and knew it just needed some color to freshen it up. You know how much I love a good furniture redo project, so I snagged it right away.
I first wiped down the chair really well to get all the built-up grime off of it. Then I took off the old seat so I could cover it with some adorable llama fabric that I found at Hobby Lobby.
Usually, I would remove the old fabric before recovering a chair cushion, but this time I left the old fabric in place. The seat was still quite cushy and I was afraid the pad would fall apart if I took the original fabric off, so I decided to just add new fabric over it.
I put the fabric face down on the table, and set the cushion on top, also face down.
Then I wrapped the fabric up and around the sides, stapling it to the bottom of the seat. I made sure my little llamas on the front didn't get warped or uneven.
With the cushion done, I moved on to the base of teh chair. I loaded up my trusty HomeRight Sprayer with some Chalky Finish paint and covered anything with a gorgeous teal color that matched the fabric.
The back of the chair had a little triangle cutout, so I painted that orange for a fun, contrasting accent. I love these bright colors so much more than that drab old brown.
The finished chair is such a delight now, with its colorful llamas and bright colors. What a transformation!
