As you all know, I love styling my bar cart for different celebrations and seasons. This particular iteration was inspired by a gorgeous piece of handmade, marbled paper I bought from a local shop. I just loved the look and feel of the paper, but I was paralyzed as to what to actually do with it! My original thought was to make a tray to go on my bar cart and then it dawned on me that it was large enough to fill the entire shelf.

Paper wasn’t going to make a durable surface, though, so I went to Lowe’s and had them cut me a piece of thin acrylic to fit the tray top. Besides protecting my paper, this also gives me the flexibility of swapping the paper out whenever I want, for all new looks! Unlimited bar cart styles without actually purchasing new ones — McGeeky was on board and I was inspired.

Once I had my piece of acrylic, I just cut my paper to size. I couldn’t find a source for this exact paper online, but there’s lots of versions of marbled paper available for sale that you can choose from.

I love how it looks with the gold of the bar cart frame and the gold and black accents on the bar pieces that I already owned. I think it would be neat to sandwich different cocktails napkins beneath the acrylic as well.
