Chalky Finish rocking chair refurbish
A friend of mine was cleaning out a house and happened upon this great rocking chair. It’s foldable, how unique. I knew this would be the perfect opportunity for me to try out my brand new Home Right Finish Max paint sprayer. They had sent it to me a while back and I hadn’t had the chance to break it out! Now was the time.
It comes with instructions, I didn’t actually read them. I poured my Americana Decor Chalky Finish Everlasting into the container and thinned it out a bit with some water.
I set my chair up outside and I was good to go!
Look at that fine mist! Look at the lack of drips! So much easier than using a can of spray paint. This sprayer has changed my life. Okay, that might be a bit dramatic but it has certainly changed how I will be painting large pieces from here on out! Since I had it filled with white paint, I went ahead and base coated a project to work on another day. I just kept spraying things until I ran out of paint! It was that easy and that much fun!
For the color over the cane part, I chose Smitten. I wanted it to coordinate with my Sanibel room. Yes, I have a room in my house dedicated to my home-away-from-home vacation spot, Sanibel Island. For this, I just brushed it on, the sprayer would be overkill!
I applied two coats of Americana Decor Soft Touch Varnish to protect my paint finish. And honestly, I hate the feel of ultra matte paint finishes. It’s like nails on a chalkboard to me! That’s why I am so in love with the Soft Touch! I still get the look without that feeling.
Here it is enjoying a bit of morning sunshine in my Sanibel room.
See how it coordinates with the Sanibel wall hanging my aunt made me in the background? Lovely, just lovely!
