Glitter bowl with seashells Posted by Jo

It’s January and I am tired of the cold. It doesn’t take me long to get tired of winter. I like it for Christmas, but then I am done! To make myself feel a bit better, I thought I would work on a summery craft for Little Jo’s room makeover that is going on for her upcoming birthday.

For a quick and easy craft, I decided to give this boring, wooden bowl a little pick-me-up. Picking the color of glitter paint was easy, because Little Jo loves ocean blues.

Before I did anything with the glitter paint, I first basecoated my bowl with an acrylic paint in the same general color. Using a solid basecoat under a glitter paint is a crucial step to make sure you get a really intense final look.

After the bascoat dried, I liberally applied three coats of sparkly Glamour Dust Glitter Paint in Aqua.

While the coats of paint were drying on my bowl, I painted some of my white shells with Ice Crystal Glamour Dust Glitter Paint.

I love how the bowl looks with the shells inside. It’s a bit difficult to see the glitter on the shells in the picture, but it looks fabulous in person. Little Jo will love having this as a decorative item in her new room!

I absolutely love this. What a great idea and something my granddaughter would love. Thank you.

Love the results b/c the blue of the bowl is the color of the Pacific around Oahu, and the shells I imagine are like glittery stars like our sandy beaches. Mahalo for sharing.
