Update mismatched Christmas tins Posted by Jo

I was inspired by all of the Christmas tin makeovers I have been seeing over on Pinterest lately and decided to give two old, mismatched tins a facelift.

I selected a couple of stencil designs I liked from Martha (deer and holly) to use along with a container of Dimensional Effects, which is a product that adds dimension to a project. You can even mix your paint with it to tint it, or you can paint right over it.

In this instance, I am going to paint over the Dimensional Effects, so I used my palette knife to apply it over my stencil, right on the tin. It was a lot of fun to remove the stencil to reveal my cute, dimensional reindeer!

I let the applied images completely dry and then I spray painted the whole container a pretty blue. To highlight the dimension a bit more, I used some Dazzling Metallic White Pearl paint just on the holly and deer.

I am so much happier with my tins now. I think I will be doing some more to match!
