Mini Me’s third birthday is coming right up and she, like Little Jo before her, wants to celebrate with a Mickey Mouse birthday. But there’s a twist — she wants a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse picnic party. This should be fun and a bit different than the party we had for Little Jo. Usually, I start with the invitation, but inspiration hasn’t hit me yet for that. However, I did come up with a way to display the utensils and napkins.
I started with some plain white mini bags, the kind that is often used for favors. To Disney-fy them, I used a pair of Mickey Mouse ear edger scissors that I have had for years and cut off the top couple of inches of each bag. So far, so cute!
Next, I hit my stash of washi tape. I love collecting washi tape, but I never seem to use it enough. This was the perfect occasion! I placed a strip of red tape with white polka dots across the top of the bag, below the cut-out ears and then trimmed it along the edge. For the final embellishment, I used a fork and spoon rubber stamp and black ink.
I filled each bag with a napkin, fork, and spoon and then put them all inside of a basket. I decorated the basket by wrapping gingham ribbon around the handle and attaching a fabric Minnie Mouse sticker to the front. I admit that utensils are an odd place to start crafting for the party but I love how they turned out!
