Instagram mini canvases Posted by Jo

I love using Instagram! Recently, I was scrolling through some of my pics and found two that I really loved of Mini Me and Little Jo. I wanted to display them in my office so I went to my local Michaels store for some inspiration.

I’ve always loved those little mini canvases with easels that they sell. Finally, I had a reason to buy them! They were just the right size and square shape for my photos. I started by painting my canvases in colors that coordinated with the pictures (and with each other).

Then I painted the easels. Those suckers were so absorbent that took a few coats of paint for me to get them how I wanted, so you might consider priming or sealing them first. While I waited for the easels to dry, I used Decoupage in the matte finish to put my pictures on my canvases.

I really like the pops of color on my bookshelf at work. I have a few other Instagram photos I am going to do the same way. What fun and so simple!

I used the Instagram app on my iPhone. I bought the canvases and easels at Michaels.

How did you print the pictures? I love these!

I just printed them on my inkjet at home. I made them a tiny bit smaller than the size of the canvas.

Your girls are beautiful! That is one great idea! I’ll have to check Hobby Lobby and see if they have some easels with baby canvases like that. Thanks again for another inspiration. I used your padding compound I bought from your Amazon Store to make a coloring book of family members for my niece for her birthday. I used Gimp, photo editor and found some tutes on YouTube.Everyone loved it! You guys are awesome!
