Giveaway – Notepad making kit Posted by Chica
August 31, 2010
Chica

First, let me congratulate Anna Maloy, the lucky winner of our latest giveaway. Anna will be receiving a My Friendship Bracelet Maker Kit. We know she’ll have such fun creating lots of friendship bracelets with this handy tool.

Now I’d like to announce our next giveaway!

Is it just me, or has summer flown by super fast this year? Without me realizing it, it’s almost fall, and around here, fall means crazy time! All the kids are starting school again, and they also have plenty of after-school activities. Little Jo is in gymnastics and my niece is starting soccer this week. All of this means lots of appointments and driving back and forth. Then there’s the upcoming holiday season, which means even more craziness. Thanksgiving has its own set of planning required, and then there’s Christmas shopping to do. It piles up, and fast. I cope with the insanity of the fall (and all year, really) with lists. I love my lists, lists, lists!

Nothing makes lists more fun to deal with than having them on pretty notepads, right? We want you to have pretty notepads, so we’re giving away a notepad making kit.

We were inspired for this giveaway when we spotted a fun set of clear stamps in the store. The “Take Note” Perfectly Clear Stamp Set by Stupendous has simple and quirky designs that make it easy to make any notepad or list so much cuter. Just stick these to an acrylic block and you’re ready to stamp your own lists. And to help you make those lists into a notepad, we are throwing in a bottle of the padding compound that we sell in our Amazon store, along with a brush, some clips and some chipboard.

stampendous_take_notepadding_compound_kit

If you have never made your own notepads before, it’s really easy. We have a make your own notepad tutorial that tells you how, and we’ve got done several other notepad projects, too, like photo notepads and gin rummy score sheets. The key to making your own notepad is a special type of glue called padding compound. Jo and I use it all the time, and it’s one of our favorite items in our craft rooms! You can purchase our padding compound from our Amazon store.

So how do you win this awesome prize?

I’m sure you’ve all got your lists just like I do. And I’ll bet there are a few things on there that you’ve just been dying to mark off. Just leave a comment below and tell us what item you just can’t seem to manage to get off your to-do list.

(By the way, my to-do that won’t go away is reorganizing my recipes into a binder.)

The deadline for entries is Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at 11:59 PM, EST.

RULES: One entry per person (determined by e-mail address). One winner will be chosen at random from all valid entries received by the deadline. Winner will be contacted via e-mail within 48 hours of giveaway end date. Winner must reply within one week with a shipping address or prize will be forfeited. If a winner’s shipping address is outside of the USA, that winner will be responsible for shipping costs.

WINNER: Congratulations to our winner, Bethany! Her comment was:

25. Bethany: I just cannot get my closet organized… I think I’ve done the rest of the closets twice!

Bethany, I feel your disorganized closet pain!  I can’t seem to keep things from falling on my head when I go into my closet!

Thanks to everyone else who entered. We enjoyed having a peek at what is on your to-do lists and were amused that a lot of the tasks are the same as ours.  Having stubborn items on that list must be a universal constant!

For those of you who didn’t win, please keep an eye on our giveaways page for our next giveaway!

I can never seem to get my craft stuff organized! It’s just jumbled into big bins and I can never find anything.

Start Diet. Maybe when I make a note pad, I’ll just go ahead and print this as item #1 for the entire pad!

The item I can’t seem to get off my “to do” list would be organizing all my seasonal decorations into totes with label and placing them in a “reachable” place in the attic. Guess cleaning out the attic should be on my “to do” list as well. lol Keep up the great work Chica and Jo!

I can’t seem to ever get the house completely clean. There always seems to be a spiderweb or a paint chipped off a wall…or a pile of dog hair…that I missed.

The thing on my to do list that I never get marked off is reducing clutter. I have good intentions but it’s a losing battle. I would love to have this give-a-way. I sort of make my own notepads but they’re just clipped at the top and fall apart. Thanks for the great give-a-way

Repainting my small powder room…it’s been on my list for years!

Getting the twins to be diaper free is a big one on my to do list, working on it slowly, oh so painfully slowly…

the chore at the top of my list is going through our never-ending piles of clothing. i had a garage sale a few weeks ago and got quite a bit done for that, but there is always more. i am trying to get my boys’ room and dresser organized so they can pick out their own outfits, (right now the clothes are clean, but stacked in piles).

I have a to-do list on my phone that doesn’t seem to get any shorter. I’ve had “scrub the toilets” on there for months..oops! I think I just revealed what a terrible housekeeper I am! :)

I have a piece of furniture that I started a couple of years ago that is on the top of my list to finish. It keeps getting pushed down the list as more important things surface.

Mending. It is the last thing I do.. even when I’m sewing. I’d rather make something new than mend.

Clean house!! Now that my daughters are off in college, maybe I can find the time to do a thorough cleaning, unless something better comes up! :-)

This looks like fun! Craft-wise I have a cross stitch project that I started that I can’t seem to get finished and for housework I can never seem to cross off dusting. That just seems to be a perpetual job. Thanks for the chance to win!

  17. Carole said: (August 31st, 2010 at 12:47 pm)

The top of my to do list is to clean my fridge. I am a big procrastinator when it comes to that. I would much rather work on my craft projects! Thanks for your website!

Ooh, my to-do list just grows and grows and grows! Then I realise that I’m committed to other, more important (ie stamping and crafting) things which have a deadline and which I just can’t leave, so the to-do list is ignored – AGAIN!! Top of my list at the moment is to clean the cooker, do some housework for a change and then to clean my craft room before I start a Full time course – but will I do it???? Lovely to read what other people are failing to do – makes me feel a tad more normal, lol.

  20. Bunny said: (August 31st, 2010 at 1:01 pm)

I can’t seem to get organized at all. I have outgrown clothes and toys that need to be gone through and I really want to get my craft stuff in some type of order instead of always wondered where I put something.

  21. Bobbie Mackey said: (August 31st, 2010 at 1:07 pm)

caulking around the bathtub and toilet. i need to really rip out the old and put new down. and the kiddos would love to help…wait. maybe that is why it cannot get done. not at all my lack of enthusiasm!

  22. Cindy said: (August 31st, 2010 at 1:08 pm)

Getting ALL the laundry done….I swear it gets down there and has babies cuz there is no way in the world my husband and I make that much laundry. It seams by looking at the piles that we change clothes every 5 minutes. It was much worse when the 2 kids were home. I live for the day when I’m caught up.

  23. JIll said: (August 31st, 2010 at 1:21 pm)

I can never seem to get all of the shoes into the shoe holder! There always seem to be an extra pair sitting under the desk or in the entry hall or on the stairs!

  24. Janel said: (August 31st, 2010 at 1:24 pm)

I can never keep the basement clean. Now that the kids are back in school I’ll be able to donate some of their old toys, you know, the ones they haven’t played with in years but still want to keep. :)

I’ve always wanted to make fun/funny little menu pads. As a former party planner, I still entertain quite a bit, and love my menu planner I created online, but want to create one that I can hang in my kitchen. It will showcase the meals I plan to make for the party along with ingredients needed and little fun/quirky boxes that I can check off for whether the meal is worth preparing again and a comment section for ways to improve next time.

  27. Joanne said: (August 31st, 2010 at 1:57 pm)

I can never get my photos organized and into albums. But there are so many more things that I never seem to get done – need more energy. Thanks! I love making notepads.

  28. Denise said: (August 31st, 2010 at 2:54 pm)

Yardwork seems to always be on my list in one form or another. If I get something done, something else comes up. This summer has been especially bad because it’s been too hot to get much of anything done outside!

  29. Jan Carter said: (August 31st, 2010 at 3:53 pm)

I would love the notepad kit! I save up Page-A-Day calendar sheets and take them into my printing store to have them made into notepads. I’d like to make my own. The one thing that I can’t seem to get off my list is clearing off my desk. Thanks!

  30. Erin said: (August 31st, 2010 at 4:02 pm)

I never even get around to writing down my to-do list anymore! On my mental list is painting and decorating my son’s room. Maybe once the weather cools?

  31. Jan said: (August 31st, 2010 at 7:23 pm)

I have got to get scrapping again or the pictures will take over. I love it once I’ve begun, but the thought of pulling that stuff out makes me cringe.

  32. Cindy G. said: (August 31st, 2010 at 7:46 pm)

As a teacher, I often have a few extra copies of handouts, and if they are only 1-sided, I stack them up, take them home when the stack gets huge, and then I just end up walking around them (or tripping over them). I seriously need to turn the stacks of paper into recycled note pads. They’d make excellent little Christmas presents for my homeroom students, too! It’s a true coincidence that the project I can’t seem to get to is pad making, so I’d love to win the kit to help me accomplish my goal!

  33. Deanna said: (August 31st, 2010 at 8:25 pm)

The item I cannot get off my list, is move the moving boxes out of the last room. I have been moving for a month and I am exhausted. I would really like to mark this off my to do list, this and hang all the pictures etc that we are going to keep. Have a great week.

  34. Ginny said: (August 31st, 2010 at 8:33 pm)

I just can’t seem to get my 20′ x 10′ storage unit cleared out. I every so often open the door, & maybe take a few items out, but have so much to get rid of. Maybe, someday…..

  38. Jo-Anne Jackson said: (September 1st, 2010 at 6:43 am)

My to-do lists generally include a long list of items, but an unwritten goal is to always GO TO BED EARLY. However, I am never able to do this. Every night, I’m up until about midnight because there’s always something that needs to be done before the next day!

  39. Suzi Bredbenner said: (September 1st, 2010 at 8:44 am)

Finish a craft project – any project. I start, get distracted, start something new, and rarely finish!

  40. cathy moore said: (September 1st, 2010 at 8:53 am)

I seem to always have a couple of things on my list that never go away: ironing, vacuuming the dog hair and straightening up my stacks of yarn & knitting supplies.

FOOD SHOPPING!!!! Just when I go food shopping it seems like I miss something and have to immediately start making another list. That really burns me.
I have always wanted to get the padding compound too. This would be perfect, as most of your giveaways are!!!!
    Thanks, Mary

My poor attic is a nightmare. I swore I was going to organize for an hour every day until it was neat but I haven’t done a thing yet.

  44. Feese said: (September 1st, 2010 at 12:36 pm)

You said ‘item’ not items, so I will submit one. However, I ,like most, have dozens of projects that require completion and therefore could submit multiple projects.

My oldest son passed away quite unexpectedly a couple of years ago. For months after he passed, I received pictures of him from three of his closest friends of their good times together. I was so pleased when I received them, because I saw him (my son) at all kinds of fun events I didn’t know about. He lived out of state from me. When cleaning out his home, my son had lots of pictures he had taken at various events with some of these same friends. My plan was to separate and make three photo books for each one of his friends with pictures they were in. Nothing fancy or not even ‘real’ scrapbook. As yet, I have not completed the task. I’ve started, but have so many pics I become overwhelmed with the task. H E L P.

I have for the past 7 months been trying to get one room in my house cleaned up and converted into a media/living room/craft room… but to no avail…
There are boxes everywhere, from when we moved-in in FEBRUARY!!!
I open the door to the room start to work on it, then get so discouraged that I just quit, leave the room and close the door again.
I need shelving, and all sorts of organizers for that room but one big problem stops me…
    M-O-N-E-Y
Someday it will be done, when the kids have moved out and I’m ready to move on…
    *SIGH* Someday…

When I start to sit down to work on them, I become immersed in LOOKING at them instead of organizing them! Hmmm, what if I made a PAD of each girl’s photos . . .
