   Thanks for sharing this! I’ve been looking at speaker/charger systems for my iPod Touch, but have been hesitant to put down money on something I may not have liked. For the record, I too need “white noise” to get to sleep at night. At home, I’ve been using ESPN Radio [LOL] for that function, or I’ll go out to the living room and crash on the sofa with the Disney Channel. But on the road, I actually have been using earphones and an iApp called “Sleepmaker Rain” that has a bunch of different rain sounds. The free version convinced me that the pro/money version was worth it. You might want to look into that one. (The Sleepmaker folks also have Sleepmaker Waves and Sleepmaker Storm.)

   PatGLex, I am addicted to white noise, too! The TV won’t work for me, though. My husband and I use a white noise machine on the nightstand at home, but when I travel, I use an app that’s similar to the one you described. Mine is called Sleep Machine Lite and it works quite well.

   My app is just called WhiteNoise. I really like it because it has all different types of noises, one funny one, to me at least is Clothes Dryer. However, I admit, I do like the sound of the actual dryer going at night. It just looks funny in the list!
