I’ll be honest with you — I’m not a huge reader. I don’t have very many books, but the ones I do have I am protective of. If I loan them out, I’d sure better get them back! One of the best ways to ensure that your precious books return to you is to mark them with bookplates. As many designs as there are out there for bookplates, nothing appeals to me as much as something personalized and hand-made. So you can imagine how intrigued I was when I saw these carved bookplate stamps over at Wisdom of the Moon.
Wendy provides a wonderful tutorial for making these bookplate stamps that includes lots of pictures, a supplies list, and step-by-step instructions. I did a little bit of linoleum carving in art class in high school and found it satisfying and fun. I think I need to get back into carving with this great project. I know Jo would love it if I made her a stamp… she has a bazillion books!
Be sure to check out this great project as well as all the other fun stuff over at Wisdom of the Moon!
