Giveaway – Brother P-touch label maker Posted by Chica
January 2, 2010
Chica

First, let me congratulate Laura, who won our most recent giveaway and will be receiving a cupcake kit full of lots of goodies, including two of our Cupcake Collars designs! I’m sure she is going to be very popular in her neighborhood with all the cupcakes she’ll be making.

Now I’d like to announce our next giveaway. We’re giving away a Brother P-touch electronic label maker!

Brother P-touch label maker

This little machine is so powerful and handy, and we just love it. Jo and I both have P-touch label makers and use them all the time. It’s a brand new year and resolutions are abounding. Our resolution is to get more organized, and we thought this label maker would be a great way to help one of you who might want to get organized too!

With an easy-to-read 15-character LCD display and typewriter-style keyboard, it’s so easy to use this machine to create labels with up to two lines. You’ll have numerous choices of character size and two choices of font. The machine comes with two tape cartridges — a 1/2″ black-on-white label and a 1/2″ white-on-lime-green. It is battery operated, so it’s incredibly portable.

They make lots of different refill cartridges for the P-touch that you can buy to create labels of different colors and sizes. They are all interchangeable so you can get really customized and switch back and forth.

We seriously love label makers, and Jo and I use ours to label things like file folders, bins and boxes, craft supplies (don’t ever lose your scrapbook tools at a group crop again!), and food containers in the kitchen pantry. My favorite use is to label the cords that go with various devices like cell phones, printers, or TV components, so that I never have to wonder again which one goes with what.

In other words, this label maker will help you GET ORGANIZED! And I’ll bet you could all use a little more of that in your life, right?

So how do you win this awesome prize?

I already told you that our biggest resolution for the year is to get organized, and we want to know yours! Just leave us a comment below and tell us your resolution for 2010. Or if you don’t have any resolutions, just say hello! We’ll randomly select one comment, and that lucky person will get the Brother P-touch Label Maker. Pretty easy, right? Go ahead and enter!

The deadline for entries is Thursday, January 14th, 2010, at 11:59 PM, EST.

RULES: One entry per person (determined by e-mail address). One winner will be chosen at random from all valid entries received by the deadline. Winner will be contacted via e-mail within 48 hours of giveaway end date. Winner must reply within one week with a shipping address or prize will be forfeited and a new winner will be chosen. If winner’s shipping address is outside of the USA, winner will be responsible for shipping costs.

Thanks to everyone else who entered. Your resolutions run the gamut from wonderful to inspirational to just plain fun. What a great group of readers we have! Good luck with your resolutions and here’s to a great 2010. Everyone else, keep an eye on our giveaways page for our next giveaway!

My New Year’s resolution is to grow my small online fiber business. Being organized is key, and is something I’ve been working on for some time. Wonderful giveaway. Thanks for doing this!

My New Years resolution for organization is to use what I have- yarn, fibre, clothing, books etc. By not bringing in new, I can organize and use all of the wonderful things I already have.
I know this will increase my gratitude attitude as well.

I’m planning to use and organize my fiber/yarn and stained glass stashes this year and try not to add to them. I’ve organized them, but they could use a little adjusting. Also, I plan to finally use my loom I’ve had for a year.

Love your website – such creative ideas! My New Year’s Resolution-Organization is just one of a list of sooooooooo many. I keep looking at label makers thinking how they would make my life so much easier, but can never decide on which one to pick. I have soooooooo many things to label, especially with a husband and 2 boys and all my crafting.

My New Years Resolution is to organize and LABEL my rubber stamps and other craft items in my craft room which is buried in stuff. To organize my clothes and give away what I do not need or wear anymore. I had looked at a label maker but hopefully I will win this and not have to buy.

My resolutions for 2010 are to have half my plate be vegetables at every meal, and to complete the Pittsburgh Marathon May 2nd. My wife wants to organize our attic, so this label maker would be instrumental in helping us do that!

  24. Janet said: (January 2nd, 2010 at 12:42 pm)

    My resolutions are:

1a) SPEND MORE time with my family (I have stopped working at home until my kids are in school full-time)

1b) SPEND LESS less money (clipping coupons, using the library more, crafts from what I have, etc.)

2a) CARE MORE about my family, friends and community (working with my kids, volunteering, etc)

2b) CARE LESS about what others think of me (work to be healthy but not worry about what people think of my look, weight, etc.)

    And of course:

TO ORGANIZE!!! I have started creating zones around my house that will help me and my family stay in routine and get the most of the day. I would love a labeler to help with this process.

  25. Angie said: (January 2nd, 2010 at 12:51 pm)

I have a few resolutions but my main one is to get the clutter in my house under control and become more organized so I have more time to spend on my family. I’m thinking of making some sort of checklist of “chores” that I’d like to accomplish on each particular day of the week (ex: laundry, clean bathrooms, vacuum, dust, choose one thing to organize . . . ) Any ideas how I can make it cute and reusable?

  32. Beth Ann Cabrera said: (January 2nd, 2010 at 2:45 pm)

This year I’d like to clear out half of my stash fabrics in order to prepare for buying our first home. This would def let me get more organized.

  33. Bonnie said: (January 2nd, 2010 at 2:52 pm)

I actually have two resolutions for this year. The first is to be more deliberate – in my schedule (what I agree to do), in my quiet time, in my purchases, all of it. Just be more present instead of seeming to fly by the seat of my pants. 2009 feels like a big ol’ mess to me, and a harried one at that. I’m slowing down & paying more attention in 2010. Resolution #2 is to be more organized. We have so much stuff in my house, I can never find anything. My goal is to organize every room in my house and the garage and we’re doing it one room at a time. The label maker would be an awesome help for this one! We have one at work and I love it.

  34. susan said: (January 2nd, 2010 at 2:57 pm)

My resolution is to donate all of the stuff I haven’t used in twelve months or longer.Susan

The room or shall I say closet that needs the most help right now is the bathroom linen closet. My resolutions is to get better oraganized in everything to save me time in this busy thing called life and spend more time with my family and friends.

    Thanks!

I don’t do resolutions anymore … I set 2 or 3 goals for myself & try not to get too bummed if I I’m not able to reach them. This year I want to lose weight and GET ORGANIZED!! I’ve heard the saying ‘cluttered house, cluttered mind’ … but I never fully understood it till we bought this house. Both sides of my family are hoarders and I DO NOT want to end up like that!!!! =D I started the declutter process last month, and if that’s the only thing I make good on this year, I’ll be happy!

I wish everyone luck with *their* resolutions (or goals) …. ***We CAN do it!!!!***

  49. sara said: (January 2nd, 2010 at 9:01 pm)

to get my craft area organized!

  50. Lara said: (January 2nd, 2010 at 9:11 pm)

My resolution is to finish craft projects that I have started and or purchased. I have several sewing projects and crossstitch projects and other craft projects that I have had for years. I am determined that this will be the year that I will finish them! In order to do most of these projects I need to become mmore organized and the labeler would be a big help.

  51. Shirley Smith said: (January 2nd, 2010 at 9:13 pm)

I wish I was as organized as everybody thinks I am. I really try and I am more organized than most people. I could really do alot more if I could win the Brother P-touch label maker (using masking tape for labels is not a pretty sight). I like things orderly and a place for everything. I sew alot and before I leave the room I always straighten up and put things away, that way it is easier to return and start a new project.

  52. Karin said: (January 2nd, 2010 at 9:45 pm)

My family has a resolution to organize, clean up and give stuff away! I am also not going to be so critical when I don’t get something accomplished. There is always the next day to try again!

  53. Tamara said: (January 2nd, 2010 at 10:16 pm)

I am not a resolutions maker. What I do is to try and do things a bit better than the year before, and to try new things. That is why I really like your Newsletters, it gives me new ideas and new things to try. Thanks! Happy New Year to you and all!

  54. Antoinette said: (January 3rd, 2010 at 3:27 am)

I have lots of resolutions, they all revolve around follow through:
I am going to take the stairs, be more organized, sew more, and remember that I love my kids even when they do something terribly messy.

    Happy New Year!

I love Christmas, but am usually too busy to enjoy it until Christmas Eve and miss out on much of the celebration. I am making my resolution to celebrate Christmas all year round. Not in decorations and wrapping presents. But in giving and attitude. Baking goodies to give to family and friends, for no particular reason. Finding that perfect little gift for someone and giving it to them, just because. (And I’m planning on preparing for the real Christmas celebration throughout the year too, so I can enjoy the Christmas season with less work.)….Oh, and I am really going to finally try to get that organization thing down too. ;)

My resolution is to get more proficient at my cake decorating skills. My friend is opening a Chocolate shop on January 15th and I am her Cake girl. I’m pretty good but I could be much better.

I would like to get organized for the non-profit I work with. We are developing arts and culture classes. We’re basically starting from nothing and having to build or repurpose outdated furniture. Trying to organize various visual arts, theatre and literature classes with used files, boxes to hold files and art materials as well as journals from writing classes. I’ve been hitting the garage sales and craigslist for file cabinets and plastic milk crates. But I need to make cubbies or create shelving for class participants so they can leave their projects until they complete the class. Most of our classes are free or on a sliding fee basis. Our organization is on a volunteer basis, although I’m doing 90% of the work. So I just hope to be organizatinal organized.

Hello! I dont believe in New years resolution, because if you wanted to change, you would have done it already. But I would love to be entered to win the label maker.

My resolution this year is to get healthier. Exercise more and make healthier foods. My kids really need more vegetables in their diet and I am going to make that happen!
    Would love the label maker.
I have Irish Twins, 2 and 3, and it would help me stay organized!
    Thanks,

Now that my sewing closet is clean, it’s time to set up that Etsy store! It’s my goal this year to get it up and going. It’s up, it’s just not going.

Thank you for all the wonderful craft ideas!!

AS a girl scout camp director we do many crafts. WE have so much stuff that this label machine sure would help us be better organized from year to year. We try to run our camp of 300 girls on donations and recycled items… so I collect things almost on a daily basis. thanks

My resolution is to make our house more of a home. We live in a bit of a fixer-upper and it has just been easier to ignore the little details and live with the hodge-podge basics. This year, I want to create a home we love (or at least like more!), a place of respite.

My main resolution is to cook real food for my family more often. Another is to stick with my little at-home yoga sessions because they really do help with just about everything! Thanks as always for this awesome site.

My resolution is to be Present in each moment-not worry about the future, or fret about the past. Just be in the moment and count my blessings.

My resolution is to get back to the basics of life. I am going through each room and donating everything that has not been used in the past 5 months. This is enough time to cover for the seasonable items too…no excuses!! Good luck to all!
