Giveaway – Xyron 900 Creative Station Posted by Chica
November 28, 2009
Chica

First, let me congratulate Edwina, who won our most recent giveaway and will be receiving a copy of the amazing and inspirational book, Good Mail Day: A Primer for Making Eye-Popping Postal Art. We’re sure you will love flipping through the pages of this book and being inspired to send beautiful mail to your family and friends!

And now I’m thrilled to announce the biggest prize we’ve ever had in our new Giveaways series. We wanted to thank all of you for your support, and give one of you a great new tool to help you craft your way through the Winter holiday season. So, we’re giving away a Xyron 900 9-Inch Creative Station!

Xyron 900 Creative Station

This machine is so amazing! It’s great for just about any crafter, and can be used for things like the following:

  • Create unique embellishments for a scrapbook
  • Make permanent or re-positionable stickers
  • Design and produce personalized magnets
  • Laminate photos or documents

The Xyron 900 Creative Station can accommodate any flat item up to 9 inches wide, including things like photos, fabric, leather, ribbon, fancy paper, and more. And since the adhesive sticks to the design without leaving residue in the cut-out areas, you can even make stickers out of intricate die-cuts or lace! It doesn’t require batteries, electricity, or heat. Just feed the item in and turn the handle.

This machine comes with a 60-foot roll of permanent adhesive. (60 feet! Can you believe it?) You can also buy different cartridges for different features, such as two-sided lamination, repositionable adhesive, and magnets! And because the cartridges are drop-in, you can easily switch between different ones for different projects. Oh, the possibilities!

Jo and I have been huge fans of Xyron products for years, so when we saw this giant 9″ wide system, we just had to buy one to share with you guys.

The Xyron 900 Creative Station retails for about $120, but we’re giving it away. To one of you!!

So how do you win? Just leave a comment on this post and tell us which of our projects is your favorite. Maybe you really like our magic folding photo cubes and are going to make a bunch for Christmas gifts? Maybe you used our Kindle cover tutorial to sew a custom case for your Kindle? Or maybe you go crazy for our easy homemade donuts at midnight? Whatever your favorite project is, tell us and you’re entered!

The deadline for comments is Friday, December 11th, 2009, at 11:59 PM, EST.

You must provide a valid e-mail address and the name of one of our projects to be entered. Only one entry allowed per e-mail address. Repeat entries will be ignored. One comment will be chosen at random from all comments submitted by the deadline. Winner will be contacted via e-mail within 48 hours of giveaway end date. Winner must reply within one week with a shipping address or prize will be forfeited and a new winner will be chosen. If winner’s shipping address is outside of the USA, winner will be responsible for shipping costs.

The project that led me to your site and begged me to bookmark it as a favorite was the Thankful clothespin wreath. I went out the next day and purchased the supplies to create one for our family. We plan to add (write on) one clothespin each year for each family member, so we can see how we evolve through the years. Thanks for all your great ideas.

I especially like the Custom Notepad idea, but first I will be making the Lifesaver Party Favors as Christmas greetings for friends.

Since I’m dying to host a Rainbow Art Birthday party this year for one of my girls I think I’ll have to go with the Crayon Birthday Invitation but I want to make the Colorful Rainbow Swirl Cupcakes and the Lifesaver Party Favors tied with rainbow ribbon…I’ll make some of my Paint sample notepads too — (might need to get some of your nifty notepad adhesive from your Custom Notepads!! : )

Wish we were neighbors so we could hang out and craft together.

    38. Mollie said: (November 29th, 2009 at 2:15 am)

My favorite project is the Etched Wine Glasses. I’ve decided I should be able to make a custom glass for each of my friends before Xmas. I spent over an hour at Michael’s today looking for Armour Etch and contact paper. When I was finally able to chase down an employee, I found out they do not carry either! I’ll have to try the other Michael’s across town tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Now I have a binder index of all my rubber stamps, and the added bonus of finding my Christmas rubber stamps, before Christmas is over. Thanks, even if I don’t win the prize.

Hey Chica and Jo, this is exciting for you to be giving away such a cool prize! My favorite project that you guys have done, is your Advent House made of polymer clay. It would be so fun (and creative) to make all the tiny elements for the calendar. The kids would just love it!

    45. Rita said: (November 29th, 2009 at 9:19 pm)

I love this sit but some of my favorites would have to be the curling ribbon coasters or the photo cube kit; I made that for my parents and they loved it.

    46. Jen said: (November 29th, 2009 at 10:03 pm)

My favorite project was the Christmas (English) Poppers…they were SO easy to do, and I had so much fun making them! I had my friends, family and neighbors gather rolls for me, and I went out and bought trinkets for inside like Christmas erasers, chocolate and little toys. I made about 250 of them in a week and took them to the local homeless shelter for the kids there. The director actually personally called me to thank me! This is the third year in a row that I have made some sort of Christmas crafts or treats for the kids there. In two weeks, I will be delivering another 100 Christmas Poppers to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee…thanks so much for the idea! Not only am I recycling, but they are so fun (and addicting) to make! Thanks ladies!

    47. Jamie said: (November 29th, 2009 at 10:46 pm)

    69. Carrie Kilgore said: (December 2nd, 2009 at 3:26 pm)

I have to pick just one? Then it must be the magic folding photo cubes. Years ago my kids and I made nesting boxes of photos for Christmas (blew up photos at Kinko’s, then placed template I made so faces showed on top of folded boxes), which were a hit (especially for my boss, who ordered one for his daughter and her new baby). But these cubes have the added value of being sturdier & holding up to handling so much better. There’s nothing more fun than combining photos with something intriguing that folks just have to pick up and play with!!

      Wow…great ideas!
I especially love the curling ribbon coasters!
And I’d heard of the binding compound before, but the idea of making a business card stack that way is fantastic.

      thanks.

Hi, I am new here and just getting to know about your projects. My mother is always sending me links to see a new project that i might like, so i decided to take a closer look for myself. I absolutely love the 50 little denim bags , with the strap. I collect jeans to make many other things. I can’t wait to try this one.

I just found your site and am so excited. I do crafts with 4-6 graders every Thursday evening. This week we are working on our annual “cards for shut-ins” – Loved the simple circle ornament holiday card you posted from the 1000 Cards…book. We are running around now getting the supplies together for tonight!

I know you said just one – but the clothespin wreath will also make a great project (just smaller due to the group size).

Thank you for posting such wonderful projects!

I loved How to sew a tiered, ruffled skirt (http://www.chicaandjo.com/2009/05/28/sew-a-tiered-ruffled-skirt/), because one of my friends just came out as an MTF transgender, and there’s few tutorials on how to make skirts like these (which she loves). Even though it was aimed toward mothers, a little adjustments and it works for adults too!

Really you all have some great wonderful ideas. I will have to give you a top five. (in no order)
      Halloween Luminaries
      Curling ribbon coasters
      Magic photo cube
      custom notepads
      colorful swirled cupcakes
But if you really really wanted me to name just one and only one…. I’ll go with the note pads. I have made other people personalized notepads and they just think the world of them. My mom kept showing hers off to everyone.

I just found your site today, after Googling about how to make a bread cornucopia and your web page cam up. I loved how you did it with the weaving of the bread strips! Now, instead of getting back to what I need to be doing, I’m browsing through your site amazed at all the creativity.

So the cornucopia is what intrigued me from your website, but I’m sure there’s going to be a lot more now that I’ve found you.

      Thanks!
