We just love it when we learn about new sites from our readers, and we found a real gem this week at Crafts by Amanda. Browse around her blog and I guarantee it won’t take long for you to find a few projects you want to try. She’s got a super collection of everyday crafts year round, but this month she has a slew of great Halloween ideas. From clothespin vampire bats to witch’s hats to a spooky eyeball bucket, she’s got plenty of stuff to help you have a crafty Halloween!
I was particularly inspired by the painted jar luminaries that she made for Halloween. What a great way to use up unneeded canning jars. Or to turn it into a recycling lesson for the kids, you can re-use glass food jars from things like mayonnaise or olives!
The idea is so simple, but the results are just amazing! I was smitten by the process as soon as she started explaining it, but the second she sprayed those painted jars with clear glaze, I was full-out in love with them. Glossy finishes make me so happy!
