Quick Tip – Make a necklace from an earring Posted by Jo

I was shopping with my favorite shopping buddy the other day and we found ourselves in the jewelry section of our local Target.  I don’t often buy costume jewelry, but I had just picked out a very unique looking dress and really wanted some jewelry to go with it.  I found the bracelet first and fell in love.  The colors went perfectly!  Then, I went searching for a necklace.  No necklaces… just a pair of matching earrings and I don’t have my ears pierced!  That’s when my friend had the best idea — buy the earrings and make them into pendants.  Fantastic!  Then I could even make one for myself and another for my Mom.

The only other item I had to purchase to make the transformation were some silver-plated, open jump rings. My husband used his needle nose pliers to open the jump ring for me so I could add the earring pendant to a simple chain I already had.  I could have easily done this myself, but then I couldn’t have taken the picture for you!  This would also be a great solution if you lose one of your favorite earrings.  At least the other one can then become your favorite necklace.
