I was reading one of my favorite blogs, One Pretty Thing, when I saw an ad on her site for Kara’s Party Ideas. I clicked to take a look and so glad I did! She has some fantastic party ideas that make me want to throw a party every weekend. If only I had the time and money to do so… One of my favorite parties on her site is the Dr. Seuss baby shower she hosted. I especially love the “Horton Hears a Who” diaper cake and the table she decorated. Stop by her site to see her other great parties such as Strawberry Shortcake and an 80′s party.
I also wanted to share some of these great Dr. Seuss party items with you all. Especially the cute Dr. Seuss baby shower invitations!

Aww, thanks so much for the mention! I love Kara’s Party Ideas. I’ve found so many creative DIY ideas and party themes from her site. Love me some Seuss!
Hi Chica and Jo,
Stumbled into your craft world from “Mod Podge Rocks”, absolutely love it here…so many projects to choose from!
One Qs: this is actually about the notepad that you guys did a tutorial on using a ‘padding compound’……..
Q. Do you know how to make Post-Its? Any idea what glue is used at the top of the post-it notes? I mean the sticky glue with which the post-it note sticks to any surface…..is it the same padding compound that you have used for making notepads?
Thanks for all the craft ideas…
regards,
-SJ
Welcome, SJ! Unfortunately, 3M’s Post-It making secret is still safe with them, we don’t know how to make that glue on the back. The padding compound is what you will find at the top of the note pads you would normally buy to stick on your refrigerator for grocery lists. It’s almost like a rubber substance when it dries, making it very flexible.
thanks so much for the shout out!!!!!
I want to know where you got the small dr seuss hats that you hung
Theresa, this idea was actually found on Kara’s party ideas blog. She has so many fantastic ideas over there. I sent her a note with your question so hopefully, we will hear from her soon!
Theresa was looking for small dr seuss hats. I just wanted to mention that in my quest for dr. seuss decorations for my son’s 2nd birthday I came across this website with the hats and lots of other items. http://www.funtocollect.com/seusscatinhatcathatpapercutouts.html
Great source, Hillary. Thanks for sharing!
I’m having a dr seuss theme baby shower and I want to make my own invitations but I need help with the wording for the invites.
Karen, we did not actually host this fantastic party, we just featured it on our site because we loved the ideas that we saw over on Kara’s Party Ideas. Perhaps you could ask Kara if she has any suggestions on how best to word your invites. Or, look at a Dr. Seuss book for some rhyming inspiration.
