Blue jean pocket place cards Posted by Jo

I really loved Chica’s idea of using the pockets from old jeans to create bean bags. I loved the idea so much that I kept trying to think of another cute use for them. This past weekend, I came up with a cute and functional way to use blue jean pockets. I made place cards / utensil holders out of them!

To do this, simply cut around the pocket on the back of a pair of old jeans. For the top of the pocket, just cut straight across the top edge leaving a nice opening.  Slide your napkin and utensils inside and voila… instant cutlery pouches great for stacking on a buffet table. I only needed eight for my cookout so I decided to also personalize them with each guest’s name. I used red puffy paint to write the name across the pocket. So cute!

This is a really cute and simple idea. I did something similiar for a more elegant table setting, but I like your idea for casual family meals.
