Feature Friday – Make your own greeting card kit Posted by Jo

Check out this great idea posted on 24/7 MOMS about making a kit for creating birthday cards.  Like the author, I hate buying greeting cards, so I usually ask my daughter to make them if I have the time to find all of the supplies for her.  But with this neat card-making kit idea, I can just tell her to grab the binder and have at it.  This particular 24/7 MOMS example is just for birthday cards, but I think I will make one that has supplies for making lots of different cards.  The embellishments for each type can be stores in separate bags.

Speaking of the bags, they are one of my favorite things about this idea.  I never would have thought to make my own binder zipper bags by reinforcing the edge with duct tape and cutting holes with a hole punch.  What a great idea!  That way, you can customize the bag size you need to your supplies.  And with duct tape available in so many fun colors these days, you don’t have to settle for boring gray (see the teal duct tape they used in the picture above).
