With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, I thought it would be a good time to re-visit my colorful swirled cupcakes idea, and give it a full-on pink treatment. The results are as pretty as they are yummy!
I followed the same directions as before, and used pink food coloring to paint several stripes of color inside a disposable icing bag. I filled the bag with a decadent but simple homemade buttercream frosting (1 stick butter, 2 cups powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, and 1-2 tbsp milk) and squeezed it onto the cupcakes. What comes out is a wonderful swirl of pink and white, and every cupcake looks a little bit different.
