Yesterday, I went to my daughter’s daycare class to have a Thanksgiving lunch with her. They had a delightful meal and then the kids did a couple of songs for us. As I looked around the room, I noticed that each child had told the teacher what he or she was thankful for that year. My daughter said she was thankful for her cat. The cat that won’t let her anywhere near it? That cat? Whatever is at the root of that answer, it is okay. She and her classmates took a few minutes to think about what it means to be thankful and to share a meal with family and friends. That is just what Chica and I will be doing over this weekend, spending time with our families and reflecting on what we are thankful for this year (and in my case, doing a bit of shopping).
Wherever you find yourself on Thanksgiving Day, we hope you have a safe and happy time of feasting and reflecting! See you back here on Monday!
