I bought some miniature nail polishes to give as part of a birthday gift to a six year old girl. The polishes were all sorts of crazy colors but came in a little plastic pouch. I wanted to zing the packaging up a bit and give her a container she could reuse. I was delighted to find that the polishes fit perfectly into an Altoid tin!
First, I picked out the scrapbook paper I wanted to use for the top and the bottom. I had some leftover Hello, Kitty scraps and thought that would be purr-fect! I traced the outline of the top and bottom of the tin on the back of the paper and then used my
sticker machine to adhere the paper to the bottom and the lid after cutting the pieces out.
Next, I lined the inside with felt so the polishes wouldn’t rattle around so much. Plus, a pink lining looked much cuter! I finished the tin off by using coordinating ribbons to decorate the edges. I used a really thin black ribbon twice around the edge of the lid, barely overlapping it. Again, I just ran my ribbon through my sticker machine to make adhering it to the tin simple and not messy.
The birthday girl loved her tin of nail polishes and once the polish is gone, she can use it to store other treasures.
