Like most moms, I take and thus print lots of pictures of my toddler. I love to send the best prints to family and friends as often as I am able to find postage stamps in my house. Often though, I forget to write her name and the date the picture was taken on the back or I am just too lazy to do this twenty times. Unlabeled pictures cause problems a few years down the line when you can’t exactly remember which bald-headed baby is which! Oh, the embarrassment I have faced showing off a picture of my youngest niece and then being told that it is actually my youngest male cousin. Sigh.
This problem has been solved for me now though. The brilliant people at Shutterfly.com (and perhaps other photo companies out there) have a field where you can type a picture description that they will print on the back of that photo. Hallelujah! The field defaults to the picture file name but since I am really bad and all of my file names look something like “IMG_3848.jpg”, this really does me no good. But I easily typed in my daughter’s name and the picture date in the first field and used the copy/paste function to complete all of them. My photos arrived in the mail yesterday, all so nicely labeled!
