Using an IKEA JABBA laundry dryer as kid’s art display Posted by Jo

The last time Chica and I were visiting our local IKEA, I saw this adorable laundry clothes dryer that looks like an octopus. I giggled and decided I really didn’t have a use for it in my laundry room and walked away. The idea didn’t strike me until we hit the kid section of the store and that’s when I realized it would be perfect to hang my daughter’s art work from over her desk in her room. The neon green color matched her room perfectly!

IKEA Jabba clothes hanger To hang it, I simply screwed a small plant-hanging hook in the ceiling. I attached a spring to the hook and to the octopus to make it bouncy. If you can’t find a spring, you can easily use string or ribbon cut to the desired length to hang it as well. My daughter loves clipping her mail and her worksheets from daycare to it and it looks really cute hanging from her ceiling!

If you don’t have an IKEA nearby, check out eBay for some options. They even have a really cute Lilo & Stitch one on there now.
