Vanilla lattes almost as good as Starbucks at home

I love vanilla lattes from Starbucks and it really is all Chica’s fault. I used to just drink flavored regular coffee or maybe a mocha cappuccino whenever I happened into a coffee shop. But then one day Chica let me taste her Starbucks Vanilla Latte the morning after a camp-out. I was hooked! Unfortunately, this meant that every time I had the urge for one I had to leave my house, pay $4 for it, and consume way too many calories for just one beverage. This is what I did until after my birthday a couple of years ago, when my friends bought me a Senseo! I decided to experiment until I found a vanilla latte I could easily make at home that would satisfy that craving.

LatteThis recipe seems very easy, and it is, but it actually took a bit of trial and error before I perfected the proportions:

  1. Pour about 1/2 cup of Coffee-Mate liquid french vanilla creamer into your mug. I use the fat free variety to save some calories.
  2. Heat the creamer in the microwave so it doesn’t cool down your coffee.
  3. Put the cup of heated creamer under your Senseo and add the Senseo Paris French Vanilla Caramel Bistro coffee pods.
  4. Press the brew button for one cup.
  5. Stir and enjoy! Chica likes to add a packet of sugar to hers but I tried that and it was too sweet for me.

Please leave a comment or email me if you have any other yummy coffee recipes using a Senseo.
